MadeForThread (madeforthread.com and app.madeforthread.com) turns photos and ideas into needlepoint and cross-stitch designs. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

• Your Google account's email address and ID. When you sign in with Google, we receive your verified email address and Google's account ID for you. We use them only to sign you in and match you to your invitation. We don't ask Google for your contacts, files or anything else.
• Photos you upload and designs you make. We store them so you can come back to your work. They're private to your account.
• A sign-in cookie. One cookie keeps you signed in. It's needed for the app to work, and we don't use it for anything else.
• The waitlist. If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address, and the name and note if you add them, so we can send you an invitation.
• Server logs. Our servers briefly keep standard request logs (such as IP address, time and page) to keep the service secure and working.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't show ads.
• We don't use analytics or tracking scripts on this site or in the app.
• We don't send your photos to outside AI services. Designs are made on our own servers.

Where your data lives

Designs, photos and account details are stored with Amazon Web Services in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit, and database backups are kept for up to 7 days. Google handles the sign-in itself under Google's privacy policy.

Google user data

MadeForThread's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use your Google email address and account ID only to sign you in, and we don't transfer them to anyone else.

Your choices

You can delete designs and photos in the app at any time. To delete your account and everything in it, to come off the waitlist, or to ask what we hold about you, send us a note through the form on our home page with the email address you use with us. We'll do it within 30 days.

Children

MadeForThread isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date above. If the changes are significant, we'll tell signed-in users in the app.
